General information and history…

Features include heated black leather seats, 6 speed gearbox, Nardi steering wheel, electric windows and mirrors, airbags, ABS, limited slip differential, and a mohair soft top with heated rear screen.

The present mileage is 55,358.
The MoT expires July 27th 2024. Excellent MoT record with only a couple of advisories over the years (for tyres) and only one failure (insufficient washer fluid in 2012!).
I acquired it in February 2022, since when it has been maintained by refurbishment/ restoration specialist MX5 Works in Buckinghamshire.
It had a Full Service on 24th July 2023 comprising: engine oil, oil filter, NGK spark plugs, K&N air filter cleaned, gearbox oil replaced, differential oil replaced, all levels inspected/topped up etc.
New rear brake discs and pads were replaced at the same time (both sides).
A new battery was fitted in February 2022, same model as original, supplied by Mazda. A battery isolator switch is fitted - handy if the car’s not being used for long periods.
Four new Bridgestone Turanza T005 tyres were fitted in February 2021 at 49,960 miles.
Clutch was replaced in October 2020 at 49,288 miles by MX-5 specialist Cleverley Repaired Cars in Suffolk.
The wiper blades were renewed in early 2022.
The cambelt was replaced in October 2016 at 42,463 miles.
Only E5 petrol has ever been used.
A Pioneer SPH-DA360DAB 6.8” touch screen multi media entertainment system is installed which includes Bluetooth, DAB+ digital radio, FM radio, USB input and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It was fitted in May 2022, replacing an aftermarket Kenwood single-DIN radio (the original stereo having obviously been removed some time in the past).
Bodywork-wise, the car is generally in extremely good condition for its age with no major rust problems. The front chassis rail and both lower front wings were repaired in January 2023. The main door cills had been replaced previously and Dinitrol cavity wax sprayed in cills and rear floor pan.
There are minor rust patches starting to develop on the rear cills which I’m advised will probably need doing in the next 12-18 months.
The mohair hood is original but is in excellent condition.
There’s a tonneau cover for use when the hood is down.
There is a matching hard-top that has a heated rear screen. It is in good condition with only a small “graze” to the underside of the interior.
Also available is a UK Custom Covers hardtop storage stand and cover (subject to negotiation).
There is also a traditional chrome luggage rack available (subject to negotiation).
The interior is pretty good generally with only a few small scuffs and marks as would be expected for a car that’s 20 years old.
The seats are heated leather and, once again, in very good condition with only some minor wear on the drivers side bolster.
The alloy wheels aren’t perfect but the rims are in reasonable condition for their age and haven’t been “kerbed”. There is a space-saver spare wheel and tool kit under the carpet in the boot.
The service history is reasonably comprehensive, the handbook being fairly well stamped together with supporting receipts and invoices etc.
