The most common flange nuts and bolts used for for mounting items like the washer bottle and expansion tank to name two items, are they available from a supplier ? if not what size are they , i thought M5 ??
A few of mine could do with replacing.

I replaced all of mine inside the engine bay with stainless steel. Mostly M6. Easily obtainable from e-bay for next to nothing really. Go easy taking the old ones out as they are made from a very rare metal with a similar quality to cheese & snap off easily.
Hi Joe,
Famous online auction site,
and many others.
When I got my car some five years ago I bought fifty of these, I am on my second fifty now having removed the underbody protection plastic parts which all use M6. Some of the M8 are also useful along with matching flanged nuts and remember a bit of coper slip which makes them easier to remove the second time.
If I remember correctly above M8 ie 10 & 12 become metric fine threads as opposed to metric course and you are advised to stick with HT plated steel as these bolts in the suspension etc need a stonger bolt for safety. From experience these are more difficult to source in small quantities and are often as cheap from the major parts suppliers.
Good luck.
Dave
Much appreciated Dave and Phoenix, already encountered a few cheesy one’s and apt description.
If you look hard enough on ebay you can find some with the same recessed head as the original.
Here’s some fitted to my car, bought several years ago.
Regarding the torsional strength of the standard bolts when they get rusted in place, I remember years ago someone in a magazine describing the bolts Honda used on their CB250’s and 350’s in the early 1970’s. They said they were 85% zinc, 5% aluminium and 10% monkey $h!t.
I’ve just bought some of the flange bolts from Kays Fasteners (link above), they arrived within a few days and look fine. I got the flange nuts from Screwfix.
Dave - thanks for the info on the M10 and M12 nuts/bolts, that concurs with my findings so far, the bolts that hold the seats down are M10 fine thread and the bolts and nuts that hold the rear suspension subframe in place seem to be M12 fine.
