OEM Toolkit?

Can anybody itemise for me the full contents of the original toolkit supplied with UK Mk1s? Mine was temporarily being stored with my other tools, but the bag must have opened and everything’s gotten mixed up with my other tools! So a list of what I’m looking for would be massively appreciated.

Also, I appear to have lost the key for my locking wheelnuts. Anybody got a clue where one can buy such a thing? I’m very worried about this. I’ve checked MX5Parts and no luck…!

Erk!!

Thanks

When I got mine all it had in the roll was the “L” type wheel nut brace and the four nuts that were removed to put the locking nuts on the car… Not even a screw driver [^o)].

You can’t buy a key for locking nuts (It would be quite a compromise of security if you could !!!). The best option would probably be to get some of these and then buy some new locking nuts.

Hope that helps,

Scotty.

  • Wheel brace
  • Box wrench + bar for spark plugs
  • Screwdriver with reversible blade in black plastic handle
  • Small combination pliers
I didn't realise that the MX-5/Roadster came with a small toolkit when I first acquired my Roadster, so apart from the wheel brace I threw them all away because they looked like cheap sh*t.

Sorry I want to resurrect this old post as I’m trying to ensure I’ve got a full original set of tools that came with my NA.

This photo online shows the following:

Does anyone know what size the spanner’s were as I’ve misplaced 2 of them (probably in my main toolbox) but would be good to confirm sizes!

Online description suggests:

Contains:

  • Tool bag
  • Spark plug box spanner
  • pliers
  • 3 x open end spanners
  • screwdriver (both cross & flat-head)

So I’m not far off!

Any help appreciated!

Thanks
