Oil leak

Can any one of you kind folk help to identify an oil leak in my 1990 1.6
The leak appears to be coming from a slot just below the oil filter. The car has recently had an oil and filter change and the oil level on the dipstick is still reading full.

Cheers

Looks like the filter needs tightening up. if not then the filter may have a leak. Either way there’s nothing to worry about.

It looks like the oil filter, I would tighten the oil filter asap], dont forget you have in the region of 25-50lbs so you could quickly loose all your oil, you could take it back to the garage who changed the oil and filter and ask them to look at the filter seal, they may have damaged it on fitment it will only take two min to tighten up or change the filter.

Thanks for your replies guys, I’ll be taking it back to the garage next weekend as I don’t have time during the week. What I find peculiar however, is that the dipstick oil level is unchanged at the full mark - surely if the car is losing oil this should be reflected in the measurement.
 Thanks all the same

A tiny drop of oil in an engine bay looks like an oil well leaking.

It will take a big loss to register on the dipstick. The difference between full and low on your dipsick is 0.83 litres so as you can see a few ccs loss will probably not show up

its still worth a look at and just a quick twist of the wrist and you will tighten the filter[Y] better to safe than sorry

Absolutely right-----
