I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __
I have had a new speedometer fitted. Unfortunately Mazda (dealer & Head office) are unable to download the mileage from my old unit onto the new unit. I have been given a digital service record which does not solve my problem. Does anyone have any idea if this is possible? I find it difficult to believe that I have been left with a car which is now virtually worthless and that Mazda has no solution.
You have evidence of the change and while rare it’s not a unique situation. It shouldn’t impact a future sale provided you share all the information about the change.
I’d look for a speedometer (mileage adjustment) specialist personally and see what they have to say. I’ve used one in the past (many years ago) when I changed my speedometer on an import car. This is not the first time i’ve seen someone say mileage couldn’t be adjusted on an ND.
Garages will not buy the car as they will not be able to sell it on. Mazda have now valued the car at £5k with all the correct documentation. I had to fight to get the correct mileage put on the digital service record. It was done in Belgium! Unless I can sell it to someone who plans to keep it for a long time I’m going to lose a lot of money on it.
