Used to do this run a lot. Try the whole route or pick and choose as you see fit .
a short route is
A635 Greenfield . turn left at the Ford Pub towards Meltham . follow to Marsden turn left towards Delph (A62)
Turn right a X roads folow road to Denshaw Turn onto A640 and follow to Hudersfield .Go around roundabout and return the same way.
Should take a hour or 2
Start And Finnish at Newbank garden center Dobcross new road
Dobcross Saddleworth Oldham OL3 5NP
UpperMill to the Strines Inn 1 Hour
Exit Right
Mini roundabout RIGHT (A670 Uppermill)
Exit Uppermill turn LEFT 0.9 at T junction turn LEFT[1.3]
At roundabout (The Clarence Pub) LEFT (A635 Holmfirth)[2.0]
Cross roads turn Right (Greengate Rd The Ford Inn)[10.2]
At end of Digley Resvoir and turn Right (fieldhead lane) [11.2]
Enter Holme and turn Right (blind corner) onto A6024[12.0]
At junction of A628 turn LEFT (bad junction)[16.9]
At round about 3rd exit A616 (Shefield)[24.2]
At Lagsett turn right (middle hope cliff lane Bank View Cafe) Strines Valley[25.4m]
This Becomes Mortimer road.Left [26.2] Right [27.8] Right[30.6]which you stay on till the Strines Inn( Postcode S6 6JE)[34.8] for Refreshments

Exit Carpark Right
At Junction turn Right A57(Manchester)[36.7] Snake Pass
Traffic light Glossop town centre turn RIGHT (B6105 Crowden)[52.3]
Junction turn RIGHT (A628 Sheffield) Caution bad junction[57.5]
Follow A628 (again) To left turn windle Edge Rd (dunford Bridge)[61.9]
Turn Left junction B6106 (holmfirth)[65.4]
Holmfith town center[69.6] turn left and then left at traffic lights then right[69.8] (A635 Manchester)
At A635Cross Roads Right turn Thick Hollins rd (Meltham)[71.5]
Join B6107 at Meltham town center Turn right Into Morrisons Postcode HD95QR[73.6] Fuel and Toilet stop
Meltham To Uppermill 1hour
Right Turn to Marsden
At marsden turn Left (A62 Oldham)[77.1]
On entering Delph Cross roads turn RIGHT (A6052 Delph)[83.3]
After bridge follow road to left Nr Wite Lion Pub (Denshaw)[83.7]
At cross roads SHARP RIGHT (A640 Huddersfield)[85.8]
Turn LEFT [89.9](B6114 Elland + Brighouse)) cross over M62
At reservoir turn LEFT [93.3](Withens lane) this lane is very narrow
Drive past dam and LEFT turn at junction(A672)[95.1]
At top of hill turn left (b6197)[102.6]
Delph Village turn Right[104.3]
Delph Cross roads (again) STRAIGHT ACROSS ( A6052Uppermill)
Mini roundabout(The woolpack pub) RIGHT[105.4]
Turn into garden center for Farewells[105.8]
Run length 105 miles and about 3.1/2 hours driving total with plenty of stopping places
