Booked! Thanks for the heads up.
I’ve never done a track day before, very excited!
I thought it was about time I learned how to not drive like a little old lady.
Are there any upgrades recommended for extra safety / fun that I can do? My five is pretty stock…
I’m guessing a decent set of brake pads is essential?
Steve
Loose items always get forgotten, clear anything thats not screwed down both in the boot and the driving compartment oh and anything you might keep under the bonnet .
Check oil and water levels , tyre pressures and as for brakes , you really only need to make sure youve got a decent amount of pad left , but take a spare set incase .You’ll use fuel like its going out of fashion if you push it too… Basic good check round before you set off is a good idea.
Hey Steve, no worries! As Peter said, it’s all just common sense really Have a good read of the track related forums on here and MX5Nutz, lots of good advice to be had.
One of the main items I think drivers forget about is brake fluid - if it hasn’t been changed in a couple of years, probably time to have it done. I had bad fade at Castle Combe not long ago because I boiled the fluid and introduced a load of air into the system.
If you fancy meeting up somewhere at Brands drop me a PM, i’ll more than happily go over your car with you
Oh! One other thing. If you are bringing tools, spare wheels, etc… Bring a tarp to put it all under whilst on track!
Booked:) Now, where did I put those snow chains;)
I’m still holding out and hoping that I may be able to get my Yoko A048 semi’s on for the day… But I seriously doubt it!
