I’m considering a 67 plate RF. 18000 miles

I appreciate this is probably an unrealistic ask, but these photos show the underneath. For the mileage, I was expecting better - or is this ‘to be expected’?

Seven and a half years old is a better yardstick than 18,000 miles imo.
Seen a lot worse on FB and the like.

I am no expert and only have experience of my 2015 but I would say “yes, expected”.

I agree, for the age i think that’s fair enough for a car presumably stored outside and that has not had any extra treatment.

Looks ok to me, slight surface rust on the thinly painted parts, it could be worse on a higher Mileage car. It’s not been a daily driver for sure.

Absolutely fine, factor in adding some corrosion protection soon.

Thanks all - much appreciated. I will go and have a look.

Looks alright.

That level of surface rust would not put me off buying it, other checks notwithstanding of course.

Looks fine to me, I’d be very happy based on the years and that condition. If you can budget in a full underseal after buying it you’ll be all good.

It doesn’t look bad to me either. It could do with a bit of underseal treatment but if the rest of the car is fine regarding service history etc, try and use it as a bargaining point that it needs doing. They can only say no.
If you bought a brand new car you would end up undersealing it at some point.
