Other car - variation

Following another thread about “what’s your other car?” - what would you like your other car to be?

For me - Lancia Delta Intregrale

Have you driven one? Alpine 110

For some years, since April 2009 when I first saw one close up at Talledega Superspeedway in fact,

I have lusted after a knuckle white Dodge Challenger complete with shaker widebody and no more than 392 naturally aspirated cubic inches.

Probably not the most conventional, even less suitable, vehicle with which to spend a season hillclimbing and sprinting but I reckon it would be tremendous fun,

Bonus with the back seats folded down I’d have a 6’ bed which would make the car quite practicle for a tour round Europe.

I have, quite briefly though. It felt like a glove

My old 1991 Alfa 33.

It does still live on in Google Streetview, where you can wind the clock back!

I occasionally fantasise about a 1.7 Boxer transplant into the NC.

My old Westfield. B235 PNF, sold to a chap from Newport, now it’s no longer MOT’d, I hope he hasn’t written it off.

A new Duster or Bigster

An old but nice Land Rover Defender and an E Type Jag.

Many years ago I had a 67 lotus elan se coupe. Seen a few pics of my old elan at shows up and down the country and would be nice to be reunited. Ideally though I’d have a sprint drop head.

My list would be very long but I’ll cut it down to either an MG TC or an Aston Martin DB5

AC Cobra for me.

I have a friend who was a mechanic and he built a Cobra from a Kit supplied by AK Sportscars in Peterborough.

I use to prepare the car for him for car shows etc. I would pick the Cobra up from his home and drive it back to my home to prep the car for the next show…An Awesome Machine

Sensible car for everything else? Probably an electric car like the Cupra Born VZ when not skipping across country roads in the MX-5, i’m lazy and want something easy but also RWD for my shopping trips to Asda.

Silly alternative to the MX-5?

GT3 Touring in dark green, Waitrose can deliver…

The problem with Porsche, probably as long as they have existed, is there is always another super upgrade just round the corner, I bet even this GT3 RS I took a ride in last September is old hat by now :man_shrugging:

I’d quite happily settle for anything from ‘73 3.0 RS / RSR era alongside my already mentioned Challanger that I have not got though
