Is there an easy way to change the PAS fluid on a MK3 without removing any pipes.
I’ve considered removing the fluid from the tank with a syringe, refill, start and repeat a few times.
Doing a number of partial changes.
Whilst this won’t technically be a full fluid change, it’s probably the least messy way I could think of.

A turkey baster is very useful for jobs like this. I also use mine for removing old brake fluid before a flush/change.
The baster cost about £1 from Wilko. No, don’t use it for turkey juice before or afterwards…buy two!

Whats the purpose in changing the PAS oil. It doesn’t overheat, and become contaminated, unless at a herculean mileage. For every posting I see on PAS fluid change on a Miata having a great outcome, there is one where someone managed to get air in the system and screw up their previously perfectly good pump.

No particular reason other than replacing all fluids over a period of time.
If I change it now, I’ll never need to do it again for another 10 years.
