Good to hear from you. Definitely watching to see if you solve it. It’s a pig!
Update:
I tried to make a warranty claim, they asked for video proof which I provided, however the whole communication was very slow and I wasn’t patient enough to wait for them so I took a risk and ordered OEM window regulator and motor (they come separate and require assembly) hoping it would resolve the issue.
Today I installed it and it resolved my issue. Window works completely as expected. It looks like it really was due to the HAL effect position switches/sensors inside the window motor.
Good news. Thank you. I’ll get one ordered.
Done. Fixed it. My mx5things window controller is also back in place and everything is great. Thank you! That was bugging me so much it was getting on my nerves all the time.
I’m having a similar issue the drivers window drops fully when I open the door and then the up switch won’t work when the door is open! Passenger window works fine.
I’ve tried a new switch but the issue persists, based on this thread I might try a motor next!
New driver side window motor fixed the issue with the window and the hardtop!
So if anyone’s having the same issue I’d try a new window motor if you’ve tried everything else!
I am absolutely relieved that mine is now fixed.
It makes it more joyful. I always had this annoyance in the background while driving it while it was faulty and now I’m back to better than factory spec and my MX-5 things window control is perfect too.
