Martyn G - In the Guidance Notes 2 - ‘You will be required to physically produce … ID as outlined on the attached list.’ We will definitely take our ID that we quoted on the application form.
As the downloaded forms in my opinion were not too self explanatory I phoned the number that was given for any queries.
It was answered by a very stroppy female who asked me why I had phoned this number and when I told her that it was on the downloaded form she said that she didn’t have time to answer questions about the car show side of the event and I should contact the person organising it!
I thanked her for her help and said I was sorry to have troubled her .
I hope I have filled in the correct bits as they are in the post now!

Cliff, I had exactly the same thoughts and did the same as you. I also spoke to the same person (I think) and got the similar less than helpful attitude. However I did manage to get some info out of her.
My main concerns were what to put in section 5 of the BSVR and who was supposed to sign the declaration page at the end of the BSVR. What I was told - rightly or wrongly - was that in Section 5 we should put any additional info that would help confirm our identity. I specifically asked if details of employment history and academic qualifications would be acceptable and was told either should be fine. As regards the declaration page I was told that the RAF would fill it in BUT we should sign at the bottom of the other information box i.e. Section 5 to confirm what we that put on the form was correct although the form doesn’t request this. I actually think she was getting mixed up with the Criminal Record declaration but I have signed the BSVR at the bottom of section 5, haven’t signed the following declaration page (which looks pretty definitely to be RAF use) but have signed the criminal records declaration. I’ve also sent a covering letter and even copies of my passport and birth certificate ! I admit that should be massive overkill but given the lack of clarity I decided on belt and braces.
One other thing that was emphasised was that the person put forward as referee must have known you for at least 3 years and not be a family member.
I’m just off to the post box now !
norfolkjohn - perhaps you had phoned before me as she was definitely not a “happy bunny”, anyway our paperwork is on it’s way now and I will make sure we take our passports with us on the day.
We’ve booked two nights accommodation in the area to attend with you local guys so hopefully all will be well .
