£ per BHP on ND Power upgrades (with Charts)

Honda powered ND is more likely from the likes of Performance Link.

just doing some bits, and came across something interesting. which led me back to this thread…

I currently have the bbr 190 for the ND, and so exploring the ‘what do i do next’… cams, or stump up bigger money for s/c.
so, i was then going through the dynos, plotting power curves and gearing etc to see when this power will benefit me.

then i noticed something…

these are the dyno plots from BBR. according to the modifications to attain them:
The 190 graph: Air Intake, Manifold, Center Section, Backbox. remap
The '213’bhp graph: Identical, + cams.

however, what i noticed. if you take the '205’bhp chart (the solid blue line), and cross-plot with the 190, its bang on identical until the cams kick in at 5500 rpm.
(my eyeball plotting onto a new graph. to show 190 vs 205 plots)

Makes me wonder, as theres various persons on here with the Cams + full exhaust setup quoting around the 200/205 bhp figures…

where did 213 come from / how was it acheived? as it looks to me , based on the mod list, that the 213 graph shouldnt exist…

The 217 figure might be the ND2 BBR220 figure.

i did check, but the ‘super 220’ for ND2 is completely different. (different rpm peaks, very different torque outputs too). its a very different engine/graph.

for me, the difference between the ‘200’ without the exhaust, and the ‘200’ with the exhaust (205 vs 213 charts) looks more like a map tweak from better fueling, such as increasing ignition timing rather than a hardware change. and, thats my logic and assumption because the the 190 + 205 graphs are too closely correlated.

anyway. just observation for discussion

The 213bhp figure is from the first version of the manifold I believe. They changed it for the ND2 to produce more torque, but that resulted in less power for us ND1 late adopters. My Super 200 with the newer mani is pretty much exactly as you describe. Super 190 plus cams.
