Having taken out the boot liners, and the bolted on metal thingy that covers the petrol filler pipes, all looks well, there’s no sign of damaged or crumbling pipes, all hose clips seem to be intact, even the ones that disappear into the square ish rubber grommet behind the seats, but I still get a definite whiff of petrol mainly on the filler side, when I open the boot, any suggestions ( MK3 2006 )
I have had a slight petrol smell in my NC 3.5 since new. It seems to come and go and I’ve never really worried about it. It’s probably worse when I’ve parked it in the garage after filling it up, I don’t ever over fill, before anybody says anything!
Similar with my NC3.5 too - mine only has the smell in the boot immediately after filling up though & like yours PHILC1 it’s been like that since new. I put it down to the filler piping running through the boot, behind the trim, in a confined space.
Only a slight smell & it soon disappears within a few miles after filling (not overfilling) the tank.
