Physical keys

Very quick question. I have recently taken delivery of a brand new 2L Homura. I received 2 remote keys with the car bur no valet key. This seems odd because the glove box has a key slot. I appreciate there is probably an emergency key inside the remote but is anyone aware if I should have an actual key?

Also in the boot I have a tyre pump/sealant kit and a separate toolkit but on the left side of the boot is a lose strap. Just a bit wary about what else may be missing because dealer was rather flaky, already had to go back for a missing cup holder

New ND’s only come with 2x keys. They will each have a blade key in the back panel of the main key remote. There is a small black release at the base of the key in the chrome part. There isn’t another type of key the car comes with. You can lock the cubby hole and keep the blade key out of the main key for valet/service purposes if needed.

As for the loose strap on the left of the trunk, they are always empty on all the MX-5 ND’s I’ve prepped for delivery. The tyre kit goes to the back of the boot area in its little cut out and strap. The metal tools for towing strap to the plastic trim directly bellow the boot latch. And the straps to the left are empty at delivery. They are brilliant at holding a spare litre of oil for a rainy day or some cleaning product to keep with you. I think its up to you what you want to use it for.

Sounds like all you would expect to have, also check the rubber bungs have been put in the transit tie down holes (just inboard from the rear of the door).

I had the same missing cupholder issue. Didn’t bother asking for one as they’re useless and I’ve deleted the rear slots by installing an armrest.

That was very quick and puts my mind at rest, thank you all. Ian I will check those bungs. Also the armrest is an interesting idea, will look into that. Thanks again

Have you got the locking wheel nut key?

Hi Malc, Yes thats all present and corretc

A better place for the tyre gunk and pump is in the cupboard behind the drivers seat, it means you get a little extra space in the boot and it’s always easy to get to.

I was getting all excited then when you said ‘glovebox’ on a new Homura.
