Apologies for the very short notice, but we’ve only just managed to work out a drive for Sunday - do hope it’s not too late for you to still make it.
We plan to meet in the car park for Homebase and AMF Bowling in Havant, PO9 3NA, from 10:30am onwards, aiming to leave at 11:00am.
The drive will last between one and a half to two hours, with the end point being the Petworth Park car park, off the A283 north of Petworth - post code GU28 9NL ('ish!). The car park charge is £2 for the whole day (for non NT members).
Please bring food/drink for a picnic if you’d like to. Petworth Park and House is a National Trust property. “The majestic 700-acre park is internationally important as one of the finest unspoilt examples of an English landscape park designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. It is also home to the largest and oldest herd of fallow deer in England.” It also contains a lake. Alternatively you can pay to go around the house.
It would be helpful if you could indicate whether you plan to join us on this drive - it will give us an idea as to whether anyone plans to turn up!
Also please keep an eye on this post up until Sunday just in case anything changes, since Chris will be doing a re-run of the planned route on Saturday.
