Pioneer DA160DAB screen issue

After sitting in some traffic today for approximately 10 minutes, with the roof down and the sun directly behind me, my screen has done this. It’s gradually receding away so hoping it self resolves.

Just posting wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar and as a warning to all. Bit peeved tbh.

Had a small patch on mine a couple of weeks ago, also a Pioneer.
The cold morning (roof down) then the sun on the screen from behind made like a hot spot on the cold screen hence condensation. Not happened again and been out in similar conditions since.:+1:

It’s nearly gone now thankfully. Was a bit worried there may be ambient moisture in the cabin but it’s definitely dry as a bone in there, so as you say must’ve been a combination of cold screen, cold moist air and dazzling bright direct sunlight. Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen again.

I got this last winter…went away in the warmer weather…noticed it’s back today after a run with the roof down. I think it will go away if the car interior gets warm consistently perhaps, but my car doesn’t get used daily and usually has the roof down.

I have a computer monitor that does this after it got a cracked screen which now allows the moisture in the air to get inside it, I just fix it by wafting an electric heater in front of it if it gets too blurry to see through.

So if ever it doesn’t go away, a hair dryer or some such thing moved round the screen should help get the condensation out from within the screen, until the next time it happens.

If your not to far away and wish to buy a screen I could always fix it for you it only takes half hour or so Think i paid 40 quid for a screen

even when you remove the screen you can’t wipe it away its between the glass and the touch sensor thats bonded together

Thanks for the kind offer - fortuntely it’s completely cleared since, although I am somewhat perplexed as to why it happened in the first place in a £300+ HU that’s under 1 year old.

Judging by all the online complaints I’ve seen (back when I had a Pioneer HU), Pioneer aren’t known for the best quality control.

Of course, if it’s under 1 year you could presumably complain under the warranty.
