Pioneer Head Unit Install with Bose - RESOLVED

Hi Everyone

I’m mid way through installing the Pioneer 77 DAB Head unit (on my NC2 with Bose) and a little stumped.

With limited instructions I’ve connected the connectors the fit together, routed GPS, microphone and rear view camera cables behind the unit but I feel like I am missing something.

I have 2 connectors which were plugged into the old Bose unit which I don’t fit into anything from the new unit.

I assume the rear view camera in connects to the SWC/Back camera cord despite one end being yellow and the other connector brown.

The unit came with a set of other cables which are loose, I assume I need to strip these, and connect together?

What are these for?

Is this aux-in connection right?

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Pretty sure the one in your hand is the heater controls connector

The small white connector is for the 3.5mm aux plug

The large white connector is the main stereo to loom connector

What are these for?

Those are the connections for enabling steering wheel controls to work with the new stereo.

Here is a wiring diagram I used when putting a chinese head unit in to my NC1.

The only difference is that I used the pre-outs from the new stereo to drive the bose amp rather than the resistor bank you will be using.

Pink is for the speed pulse that drives the speedo so the head unit knows speed.
With a bose stereo - there is no speed pulse behind the stereo - you would need to pick up from behind the clocks ( white wire )

Blue/white is for a signal coming from the reverse light +ve to tell the head unit to switch over to your reverse camera.

Green is for connecting to the handbrake ( it is only needed for video watching functions so you can’t watch a video unless the handbrake is on )

And here is my final wiring between the new head unit and the car loom

Hi there

Thank you for your detailed help! Along with this and Dynamic Sounds I managed to get it all installed and working first time.

Today’s job to tidy up the GPS, DAB, microphone wire routing as its not raining

Thanks again
