Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB

Hi all,

Just been browsing the Halfords website which is unusual for me as i think they are expensive, I was looking at the above head unit at what seems a really good deal to me but i’m not sure exactly what i will gain, so a couple of questions…

Car is 2010 NC 3.5 PRHT

Does anyone have one fitted and if so do you still need the 3.5mm jack plug or does everything run VIA bluetooth ?

Does the new facia kit fit and match ok, IE not cheap rattling plastic with awful gaps ?

Anyone got any PICS of it fitted ?

Oh and the deal is £265.20 purchase only or £342 fitted, that is before you ask for your 10% discount for MX5 OC which you may or may not get as it is in the sale.

Interest free is also available !!

Would welcome anyone’s thoughts.

Many thanks

Neil

I have the Pioneer AVH X3700DAB which is a couple of years old. It does have a jack plug and bluetooth. It fits very well !

and your 10% discount still works too. Just got mine for £238.68

Now off to source a fitting kit for my Bose 3.5 and a friend of mine has already fitted his, so will take some pics tomorrow when I see him

cheers

Paul

Also have Kuro edition and keen to hear of outcomes with radio upgrades. Especially if steering wheel control is retained for unit and 'phone hands free function.

Hi all

I think this is the fitting kit needed for bose 3.5, would be interested to know if this is what people have fitted and what functionality you have ?

Would also like an idiots guide to fitting if anyone has one

Hi Neil,

I hope this helps

Very helpful, thanks for that

I had a bad experience with Halfords. I paid £450 (including 10% discount) and waited two weeks for a slot for fitting. After dropping off, I returned two hours later and they hadn’t done anything. They said they couldn’t get the Bose unit out! I was fuming so was refunded the full amount of £500 ?? and left with a cob on. After all this a rattle under the steering wheel became apparent that I couldn’t trace so I took it to Carl at CBS in Nelson who after rummaging about, told me they hadn’t bolted the Bose unit back on, the screws were missing and then handed me their screwdriver that he found under the drivers seat! The upshot now being, I’ve bought the same unit (Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB), all the bits and pieces to finish the job including steering wheel control and dab aerial, and Carl is fitting it next week. This is all costing a bit more than the £450 at Halfords, £491.89 to be exact plus a round trip from Fleetwood to Nelson, but at least I now know that the job will be done by a competent and not a snotty nosed kid straight out of school.

btw, the car is a 2012 Kuro Edition (mk3.5)

Thanks for that Coley is £491 inclusive of Carl fitting it ?

Yes that’s everything.

I got everything from Dynamic Sounds except the dab aerial which is off eBay.

Apparently some are better than others, I have been recommended to get this
