Pipercross air filter re-use

When I bought my car it had a pipercross airfilter fitted which I changed recently for a Bosch paper filter only because I have no details on the pipercross and no information on how to refresh it. I’d like to put it back in to see if I notice any fuel improvements but my question to the group is, does anyone have any experience on these and do I need to pre treat it after a clean it?

You’re unlikely to notice any difference to be honest. Maybe you might get a bit of induction noise with the pipercross, but as for fuel improvement or performance gains forget it. Eating less pies is more likely to give you a performance gain.
