Plastic or Aluminium flat door cards?

Hi everyone.
I am looking for some advice on flat door cards. Its not for racing purposes, i am just looking for some room for my thighs. 2 options i have founds so far are ABS plastic ones from trackdoorcards.co.uk, and other one is aluminium from ebay.
Anybody used either of those before ? Is the aluminium worth the bit extra price ?
Also if anyone has tips to getting some good condition NA door crash pads for these, would be appreciated. All i can ifnd on ebay are in terrible condition.
