Plusnet Web mail

I use Plusnet web mail and I would like to install a new font to the family of fonts that come with the web mail site? Is it possible to do this, and if so, can you please describe in detail for me how to do it. I am getting on a bit you see.

I’m not aware of the ability to add new fonts.  Have you contacted Plusnet support to ask them?

Out of interest why do you want to add a new font family as there is a reasonable range available already?

the new one I want to add is called ENGLISH and it looks just the sort of writing I write but, on the computer.

For instance like this…Alan Rawlins.  I was taught at school to write in this style by a Mr Foxen, long dead by now, and it looks classy in my opinion.

PlusNet is Sheffield based, I have been using there services for over 18 years, I have always found them very helpful, give them a ring or raise a question on their support page.

But I suspect what you want to do is totally pointless as if the person you send the email to hasn’t get that font on their machine your message will come out in a regular font anyway or maybe even as complete gibberish (such as in Chinese characters) as sometimes can happen with messages containing unusual styles.

To me, that’s shouting and offensive, which would be my attitude if I received such mail from anyone. If you just want to increase the font size, there should be a way to do that.

Beside the point in question, if you are getting on (aren’t we all?) What the heck are you doing standing on the roof? (No fiddle visible either)

I suspect that you are referring to my avatar, in which case it is not me on a roof but, me at the top of Black Crag in the lake district when I was 80 years old in 2015. The point being that if you are determined enough you can do almost anything.

If this size is offensive to you, I feel sorry for you. I always post in font size 14 because older peoples sight, mine included, deteriorates with time.

Well, it isn’t on my font family but when I send myself a test with the ENGLISh used it does come to me in the font I posted. Don’t ask how I did it as it is too long to describe which is why I would like it added to the Family of Fonts Plusnet use.

The point is that it is not necessarily appearing as English 14 point on the recipient’s computer.  On mine it is showing as 24 point and bold which, as Gerry says, is definitely shouting.  The font (as displayed on my computer) is also almost indistinguishable from standard Arial.  If recipients have eyesight issues then they will have problems with other text, not just your e-mails, and so will probably already be using the accessibility features of Windows or whatever operating system they are using.

It looks different again for me:
