Power and emissions

Hey ive just brought an nc 2012 and was thinking about getting cams and replacing the mid cat with a sports cat, however i need advice on how to do this and pass mot while meeting regulations and letting my engine breath easier.

Main question im asking is what can I buy wich will keep emissions the same and also help the car because I dont understand how getting a sports cat would keep emissions the same while giving me a mini hp boost and allowing my car to flow better

I have a BBR Super200 NC with a single rear cat, it cruises through the MOT emissions test with no problem. I always take it for a 5 mile run beforehand to make sure it’s fully up to temperature.

What you’re asking for

Decat manifold or catted?

De-Cat

A sports cat works by using a different design than a standard catalytic converter.

Is the bbr 200 package the thing that comes with the single rear cat? Also do you live in the uk, thanks for the response anyway very helpful

Okay but are they just as effective, emissions wise?

The Super200 can be single or dual cat, the de-cat manifold is cheaper than the sports cat manifold, the existing rear cat can be utilised to reduce costs, or you can get the whole exhaust system from BBR.

I’m in Suffolk.

The easiest power gain from the nc is by changing the catted manifold for a de catted one. Changing the middle cat is much less effective and more obvios to an mot tester. The sensors can be fitted one in the new manifold and one in the mid cat pipework. This keeps the ecu happy and warning lights off.
