Pressed number plates

Hey guys,

im heading to France soon for a MX5 based trip to Bordeaux. I have a deep dislike for GB stickers. Don’t ask, it involves being forced to clean glue from one some 25 years ago.

So I would like to buy new plates with the EU logo and GB to avoid having to clean the glue again. At work there is a nice BMW with pressed plates and speaking to the owner, they are legal if bought from the correct outlets meeting the law (I forget the code).

I was just wondering if anybody has pressed plates on an NC? Have you had any problems? How do they look?

Sorry can’t help with the pressed steel question, but have you thought of buying just the EU/GB number plate stickers, and putting them on your current plates. Thats what I did this year, just a £1 off flea bay, and they peel off easily!

They’d have to be reflective to be legal

Hey Andy,

This is true and can be purchased in a reflective form that is legal.

You can get magnetic GB ones if that helps?

You won’t want the EU logo either

I just have a small GB sticker that I put on the rear plate, then remove it when I get back, been used 3 or 4 times now and still sticky.
