I need a new vinyl hood and Prestige has an offer on Ebay at the moment £150 . I was wondering if anyone had bought a hood from them and what is it like?
I have a Prestige Hood but not bought from them directly, it was fitted by a London outfit that buys all their hoods from them, or did do at the time. It does what it is supposed to do but knowing what I know now I would have spent the extra cash to have a heated rear glass one fitted. The plastic windows are nothing to write home about.
I have personally have used autolink.SFT and dandycars for roofs, but i did have an owner come to me last year with thier own from Co called(i could be wrong)car hood warehouse?or something like that, which was a really nice hood to fit and looked really good when finished for the money, but i am a firm believer in you pay for what you get,the cheaper they are the less quality you get.
Sorry bill, just something to thing to think about.
Went to Birkenhead on Friday and picked one up.I intend to fit it myself, will let you know how I get on.
You know where i am if you need me
I bought a tan top w/ plastic window and installed it on my '94 last year. After only one year it looks much, much worse than the OEM did after 15 years. Blotchy with light spots and sticky to the touch.
The reps at Prestige blame on the fact that I use Turtle Wax car wash soap… which I also used for years on the OEM. I can’t recommend against Prestige enough.
Hi Red, I fitted my new roof last March. It took me 8 hours but that was because I gave the frame a good going over as well. I can only say that I have only used Autoglym on it and that it is black. It still looks good and does what it is intended for.
Regards
Bill
I fitted a Presitige Hood a few years back. It was badly cut in places (too much vinyl). Might be different now.
