PRHT - preventative measure?

Sounds a bit like clickbait but… my ‘56(old) 57k NC1 has developed abrasions on the roof section. Sort of circular and mirror image on both sides. Once they appeared I didn’t bother with them as what is done is done but they have, over time increased. One side is down to the base material so it’s time to do something. Basically the section that closes over the two section roof is rubbing on the roof.

There are two rubber cones that support the closing section in its closed position. First thoughts were to raise this. They pull out easily and my first option of adding small fibre washers worked. They are 1.5mm thickness but the rubber cones went back without any heavy handedness. I put some primer paint in the damaged abrasions as a check once the roof had been through a cycle. No touch so a success, at least for now.
This may be of interest if you notice the first signs of damage to your roof or as a precautionary measure.

It’s also an excuse to have your boringly galaxy grey sprayed or wrapped in black for that cool ‘25anniversary look👍
