Project Speedster

Really enjoying watch this car develop. Is looking really good so far.Thumbs up

They were really nice, but they come from the states, and are rather expensive, I will look into it though, it would look good :slight_smile:

Love them wheels Thumbs upshe’s gonna look sharp Good Job

 I’d like to see the arches staying stock. The rest of the body changes are quite radical - but subtly done. However I have seen a Porsche Speedster replica that has rather nice ‘bubble arches’ that could look good, if you REALLY want to go that route.

It’s looking really hot, look forward to seeing it (when you planning on doing the damaged wing).

thanks fella, so is yours

I’m considering some wide rear arches, if I go for them I wont need to repair the rear wing because most of it will be cut out.

Nice seeing you the other day Garath, you could have left the rain at home tho Wink Love the idea with the sill Thumbs up

 I managed to get hold of an original Mazdaspeed A-spec front bumper, and today I gave it a quick test fit, what do you think guys?

I still need to make some adjustments, and remove the stock ducting behind, but I think it really works on the car.

 nice one…go for it Thumbs up

 I likey alot {#emotions_dlg.thumb}{#emotions_dlg.tongue} And it’s Red !!! I know another car that would look good on {#emotions_dlg.wink}

Looks great! Can’t wait to see the finished result!

Considering the number of one-off modifications on this car, it really deserves a one-off front bumper, rather than what is a quite familar part.

Gets the thumbs up from me Thumbs up

I’m loving all the one off mods, But i also like the point that you are keeping it looking like an MX5 and not a kit car {#emotions_dlg.thumb}

 I’ve had a great day today, Geoff offered to come round to help blend in the rear deck, although I am good at metal work, I really need to improve my filler work, so Geoff came round equiped with many tools and showed me how it is done, he did most of the work in getting the deck sorted, and I learn’t alot, the main thing being, have the correct tools :slight_smile:

I am over the moon with how it looks, the car is really coming together now :slight_smile:

Thanks for all your hard work today Geoff mate, I am really greatful

the man himself hard at work

and some of how far we got today.

Big SmileWell done lads. Geoff’s not a bad fellaWink Its looking good. well doneThumbs up

 Wow! I like the way it’s staying true to the basic body shape - it looks just like a genuine Mazda stying exercise. Very classy Cool and that red front end really works well with the rest of the mod’s.

I think this is going to be the ‘must see’ car at any event in the future! Thumbs up

 It was a pleasure to help you out Garath, ( My Bill is in the post by the way ) !!!{#emotions_dlg.bigsmile}{#emotions_dlg.wink}. Im sure this project car will be the one to see in the near future and im honoured to have been assistance to you in its making {#emotions_dlg.thumb} I may even spend a few more hours with you soon if you let me ??..

Cheers.

Geoff.

 Wow she is looking really good. Thumbs up

My comment about the front end was because, the rest of the car puts some efforts into curves; and the MX5 is all about a curvaceous shape, but the mouth opening of the Mazdaspeed nose, with its straight edges, and (no doubt efficient) hard edged spoiler, is somewhat jarring to my eye. I’ve seen hybrid NA/NC bumpers, but never a hybrid NA/NC-FL bumper.

Overall though, the project is good work.
