That does look good
Not sure if you have already said in this thread, what colour are u going to do in the end?
that bumper does look good AT, I watched the development of that over on CR net last year or whenever it was, I’ve always liked it, but I am happy with the mazdaspeed one, I will be adding a little to the bottom of it though, it seems to sit a bit high.
the colour I have in mind is metalic white
I cut out the damaged rear arch today, and welded in a new one
Fitted the headlights last night, they are Axis racing and use proper hella light units, so should be good
they need some adjustments as they are not properly fitted yet, but I think they are going to work well with the rest of the car
This is coming along really well, I am properly enjoying watching the progress.
I persnally really like the front bumper, I think it works well with the shape of the car.
The rear deck looks awesome, Mr Geoff obviously knows his stuff!
Are you planning on smoothing over the rear reflector holes too?
Hats off to you sir… it is threads like this that really motivate me to get out there and sort out the niggles with mine!
I hadn’t really thought about that, but I guess i will need to now that the front bumper doesn’t have them
Keep the pics coming it is like watching the birth of a new car
She’s gonna look nice
I’ve not had time to do much to this over the last few weeks, but I have done a couple of little things
I wasn’t entirely happy with the height of the front bumper, I felt it was too high in relation to the side of the car, and I learn’t that there was actually a thrim missing from the bottom of it, seeing as the bumper itself is very rare the chances of me finding the missing trim are non existant, so I sourced a well known favorite aftermarket front splitter, the good old renault Laguna splitter, it needed cutting in the middle, but the ends are bang on, and I’m really pleased with how it looks, it finishes the bumper of perfectly
I’ve also fitted a twin exit exhaust, it sounds great!!!
Loving the bespoke look. Do you have similar plans for the interior?
Not really, the dash will be remaining the same, as will the tops of the door cards, the consul will be cut down, the door cards will be re-trimmed, and the seats are from a lotus Elise.
I’ve made a few more steps forward today.
After spending hours online, and purchasing a few pairs of duds, I have now found a pair of mirrors that I think work in terms of looks, and are actually of some use as a mirror.
I also used a scrap bumper to see what it would look like with the bottom section cut out, I am still not sure to be honest (ignore the twist in the bumper, that is why it is scrap)
how about fitting a lotus exige style diffuser? I’m sure I saw some on eBay a while ago…
Loving the Laguna splitter, like you say it really finishes off the bumper and it now aligns nicely.
And, may I just say, ooooooooooooh I like the cut out look of your rear bumper! I might have to get my saw out lol
Great thread, keep it up!
Coming on nice
Oh my god !! can’t believe i’ve only just seen this thread !!
Your car is going to look absolutely amazing !! The work that has gone into it so far is great and the stance is going to be spot-on !!
I’m also LOVING that rear bumper cut-away … now where’s that saw ?? …
The old Renault Laguna splitter with the Mazdapeed Front looks incredible !! As does everything else!! I cannot wait to see the final product!
