- My model of MX-5 is: MKII,1.8, 2000
- I’m based near: Derby
- I’m looking for technical help on: I am studying motorsport engineering and looking into redesigning/improving the OEM prop shaft, however, I cannot find technical dimensions of the prop shaft online, part number: (91-00181N).
Also, no breakers yards seem to have any in the local region.
Any help will be great.

When Mazda upgraded the rear in 1994 they also had to change the driveshaft to fit the larger rear. It is 48mm shorter (L1= 1001mm vs 1049mm, 39.41/41.3" : L2= 864mm vs 816mm, 32.1/34.02) and used the larger 86-91 NA RX-7 pinion flange pattern of 4x67mm vs the 4x62mm pattern of the 1.6 rear.

Thank you this was very helpful! Would you happen to know the diameter of the shaft itself?
Try measuring yours with a Vernier?
