Prospective owner ND in Peak District

Hi folks - after a long and drawn out process researching, thinking, changing mind and deliberating some more I’ve decided a MX5 will be perfect addition into the garage.

Looking forward to undestand more about the MX5OC and the forum.

Missed out on a 2016 sport recaro today, too slow to call, but have eye on few others. Appreciate any guidance on what to look for, and whether go straight down to BBR… there are some nice Launch Ed RF’s out there as well

I’ver never had a convertible but looking forward to getting out on local drives and car & coffee on a Sunday.

Cheers

Interesting day today. Jaunt out to a dealer advertising two MX5, an RF as well as a ND roadster.

Initial impressions very positive, left to look around the cars and try everything on. Roadster was comfortable with more pedal room, especially accelerator side, more than I was expecting. Lovely polymetal grey and burgundy interior.

Looked over the RF, and older launch edition. Hadn’t been prepped due to a roof issue, but interior with Recaro hadn’t aged well, with some bolster wear as expected. What was immediately apparent was I didn’t fit! Headroom much reduced Vs roadster so was immediately ruled out.

Back to the roadster I was aware of headroom and just couldn’t shake the feeling my head was over top of the window line. Came away with some more research needed. Can an ND seat be dropped >1 inch?

Welcome.

Have a look at Jass Performance for seat lowering options:

Hi Lippy,

I’ on the edge of the Peaks in S11 Sheffield. I’m 6’1 and fit fine in my ND. In fact I find it more comfortable than my wife’s Honda Jazz. Mine is a daily and I have no regrets since getting it 5 months ago.

Collection day and obligatory drive with roof down after work.

Immediate plans are lower the seat and change the gearbox and diff oils. then get prepped for the journey to Le Mans !

Burgundy interior sounds nice. Any pics?

This one is standard black leather and red stitch interior. The ND2 I looked at was nice blue with the burgundy

Gorgeous looking ND1, same as mine in which is Soul Red (RF) and I’m 6’ tall, finding it fairly comfortable tbh. Hope you have loads of fun as we have this last 3 years. Bought mine on 12k miles, now completed 67.5k miles and apart from planned servicing, tyres and the obligatory changing of the rear rose bushes, it’s been excellent and still getting 50+ mpg. Love our ND.
