Just looking for a little advice from anyone who might have experience of breaking a mazda 6, what’s worth extracting and what’s not… I’ve split cars before but only when I’ve had some handle on what’s worth money and what’s ■■■■!
As you might guess, I got this car for the engine- it was cheaper than a standalone engine with no history, and I’ve been able to road test it too, great success. I don’t have space or really the inclination to really split it down and try and extract every penny out of it so it’s big hits I’m thinking of mostly, things that owners want. The interior seems nice but I’m not sure it has much value since there’s so many of these?
Any advice much appreciated! I’m sorely tempted to just pull the wheels, battery and cat and ditch the rest just for ease but that seems a shame.
Oh yeah I forgot to ask- that’s the other thing, is there any intercompatibility worth taking advantage of? Thinking of basic stuff like maybe brake discs etc. It’s a different platform obviously but if I can bolt in the engine maybe I can steal other stuff
Put a listing one eBay with plenty of pictures. The usual way of doing it is listing one wheel nut for £10. Ask people to contact you for prices and details of any other parts.
Yes there are fees to pay when you sell but the marketplace is so big that it makes up for that.
I manufacture and sell MX-5 accessories and advertise on forums, Facebook and eBay. Around 10% of my sales are from forums, 20% Facebook and 70% eBay.
