For the last couple of weeks my rado has gone mad! It just changes channel to anything at random or goes mute. If i reset the channel by the button it goes back to my choice, ( BBC Radio 2, yes I’m an old duffer). Any idea whats going on?

Most likely cause will be some crud accumulated on the contacts of the station up / down buttons on the steering wheel. First suggestion would be lots of continual presses on the buttons. Probably won’t make any difference so get yourself a can of spray electrical contact cleaner and spray in the gaps around the buttons and lots more presses. Don’t use WD40 or similar. The oil in it will attract any nasty stuff and probably do more harm than good.
Servisol Super 10. It’s almost magic.
WD40 does more harm than good on contacts.
Will also remove sticker glue residue, finger marks and other staining on metal, plastics and painted surfaces.
I’ve not found any surfaces that it caused any damage too. No change to the appearance of matt, satin or gloss finishes.
