Rain rail replacement help

  1. My model of MX-5 is: 1990 Eunos
  2. I’m based near: Harlow
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Rain rail replacements

Found to my dismay this morning that my rain rail is cracked and leaking. Looks like other projects for the car are now on the back burner …

Looking at replacements…
Ideally don’t want to drop the £200 for the mx5 parts one if there are good after market ones but obviously do need it asap. (Have a cover to use until it arrives).

Reviews of the il motorsport one don’t look great.
There is also one on Moss Europe by the brand Robbins. Has anyone used this ? Is it any good? Or am i best to just take out of my savings for the mx5 parts genuine one?

Edit:
Trying to get new so I don’t need to do it again in the near future.

Call Andrew at Autolink in Dumfries. Mx5 bits specialist we all know.
You might get lucky.
Never heard the Robbins but…Moss imports cheap “stuff” from all over…ahem…a certain not very nice on the political spectrum country.

Theres a mx5 breakers in ipswich also

Thanks. Hoping to get new or no doubt I’ll be doing the same at some point soon.

Thanks might give a call and see. Hoping to get new though so I don’t have to do again soon.

Why not save the time looking to save a few bob and just plonk down the 200 quid?

Looking like I will be doing, just wondered if there was any just as good (or better!) aftermarket ones before I do. :+1:
Mainly because I’m on apprentice wage and don’t want to spend extra where necessary but will if it would compromise on quality otherwise.

I’d look at the cracks with the potential of using gaffer tape to seal them.

Robbins is one of the top companies (US) for MX5 replacement hoods; Moss used to stock this brand since year zip. Usually considered a premium-premium brand… Their rain rail is a considerable improvement in terms of quality on the factory par
