Rain RAil Stud Broken/Sheared

Maybe (hopefully) this isn’t uncommon. Some ‘genius’ sheared off one of the studs that retains the rain rail and soft top. Any one know IF these can be knocked out and replaced ? Or is it a complete panel replacement ??

Many Thanks Guys !

Grind it down drill it out and reweld a new one back in.

I have to do this for my OS headlight… joy Confused

Had a similar problem on my Front wing studs / bolts. I drilled them out and used Rivnut and glued a bolt in.

Got me out of a few problems. I recently fitted Stainless Steel chassis rails and used rivnuts to bolt them up.

I picked up a hand insertion pliers / tool only good up to 8mm, need bigger arms for the 10mm

I did get hold of Ali and Mild steel ones don’t bother with stainless one’s as you need the pnematic gun for these

Good call Ste, Thumbs up they were going to be my next solution

Great Guys !

Thanks for the suggestions and help on this.

It doesnt seem to be a major issue, at the moment. The one that sheered off is towards the driver’s side - did a leak test and seems to be sound.

I’ll get around to it - sometime (summertime - if we get a summer … IF).

Thanks again !
