Random bits of experience you have picked up in life

I inferred nothing of the sort. I talked about charcoal, that’s it, you’ve inferred something completely different. Please do not try to embarrass me on a public forum

Arguing with someone intelligent is difficult.
Arguing with someone stupid is impossible.

Do not trust the one that winks.
Always stuck with me… its insanely hot when done right… which after being told. Puts a different perspective on in.

If you pay too much, you have wasted some of the money you spent.

If you pay too little, you have wasted all the money you spent.

You will always regret the things you didn’t do, rather than the things you did…

Breathing through your mouth, rather than through your nose, when peeling and cutting onions, means no crying (unless you are sad).

John Ruskin (1819-1900)

"It is unwise to pay too much but it is worse to pay too little. When you pay too much you lose a little money…that is all. When you pay too little you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the things it was bought to do."

"There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man’s lawful prey".

“Some people in this world know the price of everything and the value of nothing”
Not sure where he got it from but said by a good friend about a woman we both knew.

“Don’t confuse activity with progress”
Again, not sure where it originated, but said to me by a business mentor in the early days of my career.

Someone once quoted George Bernard Shaw to me, can’t remember who, but looking back now it was very true,

“Youth is wasted on the young”

It took me a while in life to realise that in every single situation, when someone don’t agree with me, then that someone is wrong.

“Cocaïne is god’s way of reminding you that you’re making too much money”.

I already no longer believed in god when I read that on a t-shirt.
