Just having a poke around in the back and found a cable that looks like it might be for some optional extra, but I don’t know what.

Is this for the powered hardtop then?

No. Detachable hard-top. You can add it to your soft-top car (eg for winter), leaving the soft-top stowed down.

Power Retractable Hard Top (PRHT) is different and is a permanent feature instead of your soft-top.
