Rattly windows

Feeling a bit please with myself, managed to sort out an annoying rattly window. Inside the door are two ‘stops’ with had worn a little too short. Easy enough to remove and added a strip of self adhesive number plate tape to the underside. Refitted nice and tight and the rattling window is but a mere memory.

I had similar with my driver’s side window, window up hood down it rattled. Removed the black weather strip on the top of the door. The part the strip that presses against the window had compressed hence the window seemed a loose fit when raised. You can buy replacements or as I did squeezed some curtain wire down the rubber seal of the original, it’s hollow in the centre. A dob of silicone to close the end of the seal and refitted now nice and firm fitting window no rattles.

Hello MickAP

Your curtain wire cure worked a treat, the passenger window on my 94 Eunos, hood down window up, no longer rattles. Brilliant, simple & effective.

Thank you
