- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: rear brake pad sizes , I bought the car some years ago and it had uprated brake disc drilled and grooved,
I have changed front brake pad no problem but the rear pad seem to be not covering all of the disc I have measured the disc contact area witch is 45mm but the pad material is only 40mm high so it’s leaving a 5mm rust ring on the inside edge, I never keep the old pads to compare has anybody else had this problem
That is typical of most brake discs and pad contact.
If the rust is bothering you, paint that and the bell of the disc with wheel off.

Mine are the same and the oem stuff I took off were too. Didn’t wear over the complete disc surface, stopped short of the edge by about 5mm
Sounds normal - here are my OEM discs/pads before I swapped them out.
Deffo a 5mm ring on the inside where the pads don’t rub.
On the previous NC, about the same but covered in heat resistant paint if it bothers you, it did me.
Thanks for your advice on the painting of the rust area but my old pad worked on the complete area of the disc so there must be the right pads somewhere
