- My model of MX-5 is: 2022 RF Sport Tech
- I’m based near: West Midlands
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __ rear lighting
Question - I have a 2022 RF. When I put it in reverse only the rear offside light lights up. Same when I put the fog lights on, only the rear offside light lights up. Is this correct as I’m not getting any fault warnings.
Spot on - you have just one of each !
No the reversing light is only on the near side, and fog on the off side. Sounds like you need to return to the dealer.

Ah, thanks guys, just checked again. It actually has one on each side. One reversing light on the nearside and one fog light on the offside.
So I guess is ok. Just think it’s odd, all my other cars have been both on both sides.
Hey ho.
This is a cheap sports car don’t forget, well cheaper compared to other so called sports/cabriolet manufacturers.
Pretty standard for all Mazdas really. Markets that don’t require a rear fog have 2 reverse lamps, markets that require a rear fog have the appropriate side reverse lamp wired as a fog lamp. MX-5 NA and the some early pick-ups being the only examples I can think of that break this rule, having 2 reverse lamps and an add on rear fog as markets dictate.
