A query arising out of my thread on the boot leak.
Has anybody actually replaced the gasket on the rear light unit in a pre-facelift Mk3? Guy at MX5 Parts tells me that the gasket was an integral part of the light in the pre-facelift model and not separate.
If you can get it off to pattern it you can always make new ones using closed cell foam and double sided tape…
So, for IL Motorsport, genuine gaskets fits all NCs. For MX5parts, genuine gaskets fit only later models.

Unless it’s damaged I’ll probably just silicone it.
Rather than silicone, I’d consider something like boss white plumbing sealer.
It stinks and it’s a bit messy .
I’ve used it on all sorts of stuff, just used it on a gutter joint last week.
