I am getting crackle from the rear speakers, even with them turned off at the headunit - aftermarket Sony.
They were never much good, and I rely on the door speakers for my sound.
Now, I don’t want the hassle of removing the rear trim to get at speakers I don’t use. So my question is, which stock wires from the headunit run to the rears, and do they only run to the rears, because if they do, I will just disconnect/cut them near the headunit
Should be pretty simple.
The iso connector which you have on the back of the sony unit has wires arranged as per this wiki entry:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connectors_for_car_audio#Loudspeaker_(B)
Simply remove the pins or cut the wires to the B1 B2 B7 & B8 pins. This should disconnect the rears entirely from the head unit.
I would advise some investigation before you start though. as the speakers are passive something must be sending a signal to them to make them crackle. If it’s not the head unit then something may be affecting the wires causing the crackling
thanks for that. Much appreciated :)
