Rear Wheel Arch Protection

My 05 plate blue NB is looking pretty tired and had a hard life before we acquired it. I was about to splash the cash and get the rear arches done but got tipped off about a 54 plate NB in silver with only 18 k on it and described as perfect condition, and close to concourse. It is and it’s in my garage now :slightly_smiling_face:

Thinking about keeping it like that, with the lack of any protection on the rolled in metal section of the arches has anyone tried anything to give some protection from stone chips etc that doesn’t look totally bodgelike.

We had a Megan’s where the rolled edges were just starting to flake and go rusty.
I took the paint back with a dremel tool, hand painted with grey primer to ensure a nice thick coat, rubbed this back flat and then sprayed with a colour matched rattle can.
Getting a perfect match with a rattle can is nigh on impossible, but under the arch where there were no hard edges to compare it against, you couldn’t tell.
They still looked good when we sold the car about 7 years later.
