Rear window material. Anybody know where from?

My rear window in my 1994 Roadster is absolutely beyond repair and i really don’t have the money to pay for a new one at the moment. Does anybody have any idea where i can buy some of the rear window material to fit myself? Thanks.

Hi - Not sure where you are in the country- but I have just had a new “vybak” (pvc) window fitted by a specialist car trimmer firm in Redcar, Cleveland… cost £70 all in - they do loads of MX 5 back windows. My roof was brand new - just some low life slashed the pvc window - if you are close enough & need the firms address & phone no. - I will post it…Hope this helps Good Luck !

G’day mate, welcome to the Forum

Post the details of the hood company and let all the members in on the secret[;)]

I’m in Ashford, Kent. Would be a little too far for me i’m afraid. Does sound a very good price, i may have a look around locally then at that price. Cheers.

Hello again, I know they fit & post seat covers & hoods etc all over the world (especially mx5’s) so they may just post you a section of pvc big enough for you to have a go yourself…the stuff they use is called “Vybak” try a search for it …any way they have a website its

All of there details are on it phones, addresses etc + some pics of cars they have done - I know they own 2 x mx’s & are involved in the Jap North East scene…saved me £170 !!  lovely cuppa while they did my window !..Nice people.

Again Best of Luck

That’s excellent thankyou. I’ve found a company that sell Vybak by the sheet. The amount i’ll need is £15. I’ll try and sew it in if not i’ll just use black rivets and some sealant as a temp. fix. Now where did i leave my horse and stetson.

Theres a window on ebay at the moment for £4.99, its got a while to go but it may be worth watching[;)]
