I have a 1996 MK1 MX5 Merlot which I need to get the rear wings and sills repaired (usual problem). I live in Bournemouth so wondered if anyone could recommend a local or nearby bodyshop that could carry out this work or is there any specialist MX5 place that someone could recommend?
I have already contacted MX5Heaven in Dorchester and am waiting for a reply.
Dan at The Welding Corner in Waltham Chase is The Man in South Hants. He’s an expert on proper quality welding repairs to all the usual suspect areas of MX-5s. He used to be part of the ‘Doctor MX5’ operation, but I think there may have been some parting of the ways. However, he’s still in the same premises next door, and he uses a bodyshop next to him for the paint.
Between Southampton and Bishops Waltham - so maybe a bit far for you. But there’s a train station nearby, at Botley, and Dan is happy to collect you/drop you off. Smashing bloke and quality work.
