Recommend a garage - South Essex

Looking to get the cambelt done on my Mk2. Done 77000 miles but never had a cambelt change. Can anyone recommend a garage that can do this and what sort of price should I expect to pay?

 

I am sure I read on here a while ago that there is a garage in Fobbing that specializes in MX5’s

I have heard the the garage in Bulphan is an MX5 expert.  Not used it myself, car’s too new, but it has been mentioned on the forum before.

The owner is Allan, He is your man for this, he does loads of work for the North Thames members and knows his stuff.

He has done a lot of work for me and I would recommend him any day.

Hi Webby.  Can’t help you with that myself, but Bazza might.  If not why not give Allan a call, he’ll probably be able to give you a rough idea.

Thanks, I will do. Just wanted to gauge opinion on anyone who has had their cambelt replaced to see how prices vary really.

Had my cambelt changed by Allan at Bulphan Service Station last autumn. The bill including sorting out an HT lead issue that emerged while in the garage was a very reasonable £150 from memory. I’ve now changed to a 3.5 but will continue to support an incredible resource for Essex MX5 users.
