Hey!
Have an ‘98 na with little bit of rust on the sills by the wheels, I’ve got sandpaper to take off what I can off the rust but not sure what anti-rust product is best to apply before painting over- does anyone have any recommendations?
Was told to just buy a £10-15 bottle but is spray or a wax better product?
Many thanks in advance!
Aqua steel rust converter is my go too product.
Really depends on how far the rot has set in.
Is it treatable or is it in need of cutting out and welding in new sections.
Please post some pictures to give club members an idea as to give best advice.

These are what I’m working with at the moment, I’d like to think it’s early stages and will do the trick with some sanding/anti-rust and a coat of paint- or at least I hope🤣
na’s been out and about today, so I can always provide cleaner pictures later to see what’s dirt and what’s rust!!
Your kind of wasting your time sadly but normally you would go at it with a flap wheel to get all the loose off, treat it and paint it.
Bilt hamber make some of the best products, i find the converters a bit hit and miss to be honest but theirs is well recommended.
At least you can mask and paint to a line, id probably buy a black paint suitable for painting over previously rusted surfaces rather then car spray type paint.

If anyone was looking for the same answer I was looking for, this what I did on the end.
I’m not a professional and I got some advice and winged most of it! Don’t need it to look amazing, just look good from afar😂
cleaned the sills > Wire brushed the surface rust to the best of my ability > Brushed Lanoguard over the whole area and let set for a day or two > Went on with hammerite black metal paint (and a little paint of my colour code for touch ups)
Not amazing by any means and as the weather gets better gonna sort out the rest of the black sills the whole way to make it look fresh👌
Not the best but does the job for now and will give me a few years before the inevitable😂
