- My model of MX-5 is: Mk 3
- I’m based near: St Davids
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: how to remove scuff marks from dashboard trim (piano black)
I’ve a feeling that it might be painted.
I used regular car polish to remove some swirl marks from mine, and it seems to take a layer off, leaving it on the cloth.
I’d suggest maybe polish first, if that fails, move to t-cut, but based on my gut feeling, be careful not to cut through.
Thanks. I had considered T-Cut but was worried like you that it may be too harsh. Will try polish first as you suggest
Try Turtle Wax “Black Chrome” or “Black in a Flash” it works wonders on removing/filling in scratches on black and carbon fibre trim.
Thanks!
I found Meguiars ScratchX got rid of a shallow two inch scratch from the most prominent place - right in front of the passenger. It was Piano Black too.
Thanks - good to know if other methods don’t work
