Do you have the twin cable set and a new boot release mechanism??
I am awaiting delivery of a single cable non electric mechanism. There is no allocated slot in the console at the moment so a get around will be needed.
Until the package arrives I am not sure if any brackets come with it.
When I fitted mine I used mazda parts as there is only 1 mounting at the rear of the centre console. You need to remove the rear deck carpet, and the tin underneath, held by lots of 10mm headed bolts.
Many thanks for this information. I will make sure I count all the 10 mm bolts.
Maybe a small drilled hole with a grommet might do the trick. Until I get the part I cannot really make a judgement though. The end that connects to the boot may have a chunky connector in which case no drill hole.
