Am thinking of changing the original Nardi gearknob on my v spec.
before I do, does it just unscrew? It seems very stiff.
Are there any screws that need undoing? Cannot see any!
Would it be a standard thread which any new knob would fit?
Any hints most welcome!!!
thanks.
Yep, it simply unscrews. It does seem to go on forever.
so, its just a question of being a bit brutal to get it started off is it? Anti clock presumably?
Didnt want to do any damage as havnt got a new knob yet!!!
Yep. Don’t forget its been on there a long time. While you are at it, its a good time to check the rubber seasl around the gearlever and chnage the oil in the top of the box.
Pull the rubber down at the bottom of the gear knob, some just screwed straight onto the shaft and some had a grub screw holding it under the rubber boot, just check to be safe

thanks for the advice - much appreciated! will probably go for it now! Now I feel a nice tan gaiter coming on to complete the effect ha! will check the seals and oil. seems a quite simple job to change the seals if required, even for me!!
thanks m-m - is it rubber? - it feels more like plastic!!
Then it should just screw off as Nick said, get some weetabix down you

haha! will do!! thanks for your advice and Nick as well.
Just wait till you try to get the steering wheel off Lol!
