I’ve just purchased a Mk1 1994 Eunos Mx5 roadster.
Unfortunately the previous owner had a slightly different taste to mine, and used orange as the theme. Moving forward I’m not a fan and want to make the car my own anyway
He thinks they have been on the car for approx. 1 year, and most of the time the car has been in the garage!
I would like to remove the stickers (and eventually change the rollbar to a black one lol)
But I have no idea how to go about this. I assume it’s over the stone chip style paint.
What do you guys think? I don’t mind replacing the strips with another colour e.g. Gold Eunos stickers, but ideally I’d like it plain if possible.
Anyone come across this before?
Previous owner reckons they would just peel right off.
I didn’t even need the hairdryer, it made it more ‘sticky’ and left residue using it haha, awesome. Just peeled right off. So pleased - car looks miles better.
There are some slight lines, but I imagine after a good wash and polish it’ll be fine.
no effect on paintwork other than it leaves it clean, its also great for removing underseal/rust proofer overspray, it was the only thing I found that did…
Also ordinary White Spirit from the builders merchants is very good for removing under-seal, sticky label residues, etc. And it is a lot cheaper, and with no residue also cleaner than WD40.
I found my Mazda3 wheels had Dinitrol under-seal fingerprints on them when I finally got around to cleaning it a couple of weeks after it had been treated by Ultimate. The marks vanished in a few wipes of a tissue wetted with a smear of white spirit. Then I washed it properly and waxed it.
